Hace unos dias, Wooster Collective & Juxtapoz Magazine han destacado las colaboraciones de dos interesantes artistas del graffiti: El Mac y Retna. El mural que aparece abajo se titula Memento Mori, una frase en Latín que nos recuerda nuestra mortalidad. Como los propios artistas explican: "Esto puede parecer un poco desagradable, pero en realidad se trata de animarnos a disfrutar al máximo y valorar como és debido nuestro tiempo aquí" El Mac nos obsequia con el personaje y Retna la caligrafía que transcribe un poema Prehispánico Nahuatl/Azteca:
¿Acaso debo hacer como las flores que perecen?
¿Quedará algo de mi nombre?
¿Algo de mi fama aquí en la Tierra?
Por lo menos mis flores, por lo menos mis canciones.
La tierra és la región de los momentos fugazes.
In the last few days,
Wooster Collective &
Juxtapoz Magazine have featured the collaboration works of two interesting graffiti artists:
El Mac and
Retna. The mural showed below it's been titled
Memento Mori, a Latin phrase that remind us of our mortality. As the artists tell us "That could seem a little grim, but the point is really to encourage us to properly value and make the most of our time here."
El Mac delivers the character and Retna the lettering that comes from a pre-Hispanic Nahuatl/Azteca poem:
Must I go like the flowers that perish?
Will nothing remain of my name?
Nothing of my fame here on Earth?
At least my flowers, at least my songs.
Earth is the region of the fleeting moment.
